As shellfish producers in British Columbia maneuver and struggle through a bureaucratic made-in-Canada quagmire, their peers in New Zealand have put together a united front to market their products worldwide. “What they have, what we don’t have here, is government support,” says Roberta Stevenson, executive director of the BC Shellfish Growers Association.
